Rory Gallagher created some of thegreatest rock/blues albums of the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s, thus reaching a massive audience from Norway to Spain, from Japan to the USA. As a tribute to Rory and to celebrate his music, two long time companions of his have founded the Band Of Friends. And in 2013 they received the European Blues Award for the best band!

Gerry McAvoy (Rory Gallagher / Nine Below Zero / Champion Jack Dupree) was the bass man on all of Rory”s albums. From 1971 to 1991, he had a great insight into the man and his music. Which prompted him to write a book about Gallagher”s career – “Riding Shotgun” (www.ridingshotgun.co.uk).

Ted McKenna (Rory Gallagher / Gary Moore / Greg Lake / The Sensational Alex Harvey Band / Teargas / Michael Schenker Group) played with Rory from 1977 to 1981. A rock drummer”s drummer who played and recorded with numerous big shots.

Marcel Scherpenzeel (Wolfpin) grew up with Rory”s music, and Gerry McAvoy is quoted as saying “This is the closest guitarist to Rory you will ever hear.”Rory Gallagher schuf einige der wunderbarsten Rock-/Blues-Alben der 60er, 70er sowie 80er Jahre und erreichte ein Riesenpublikum von Norwegen bis Spanien, von Japan bis in die USA.
